Dinner & A Movie
Catcher in the Rye Bistro Sandwiches, Frrrozen Hot Chocolate & Serendipity
What’s the holiday season without a romantic comedy, especially one set in New York at Christmas with Bloomingdale’s, Wollman Rink, the Waldorf Astoria, and Serendipity 3 as locations. I’ll admit, after I saw this film for the first time I joined the crowds in line to try the famous Frrrozen hot...

Bridges of New York
I was going through my film archive today scanning classic images of New York City and I kept coming across these bridge shots which I started loving. They are so monolithic and when I find myself on one I always seem to shoot it out of respect for its sheer enormity. Unlike tunnels which are hidden from view, bridges are what take us in and out of the city in the most magnificent way....

Recycled Lovelies
This past weekend I received a package in the mail from Deanna over at Recycled Lovelies, a fantastic blog about recycling old clothes into something new as one person’s contribution to the environment and a year long commitment to not buying new. This also includes making gifts from recycled items such as the charming apron she gifted to me! It’s a lovely and simple DIY project she...

San Francisco Sloppy Joes, Sweet Potato Oven Fries with Avocado Dip & Home Alone
So it’s all holiday cheer here still and I wanted to watch something from my childhood- enter Home Alone. It was kind of hard to think up a good meal pairing for this, I mean cheese pizza was a given but too simple and who can forget the line: “Fuller, Go Easy on the Pepsi”? So I had to think...

Send-A-Salami
I feel like eating at Katz’s Delicatessen in the Lower East Side is a right of passage to living in New York. It’s as if you’re a part of the history, the fabric of this ever changing melting pot of Manhattan. I like to sit there with my sandwich and think of the girl, like me, sitting there in 1888 or who actually sent a salami to their boy in the army in World War II…...

A Very Martha Christmas
This past weekend was the Martha Stewart Holiday Craft Show in New York City’s Starrett-Lehigh Building, an old warehouse which is also home to the offices of Martha Stewart and spectacular views of the Hudson river. It was everything you would expect from Martha- charming, clean, beautiful, glitter, and full of talented crafters. One of those crafters, Kylie Fife, is not only a sweet...

Thyme to Celebrate!
When Whole Foods asked on Twitter Thursday “Thanksgiving is often a time of reflection, what are you most thankful for this year? ” I replied “For having the ability to change, grow, and start new traditions with the ones I love while making new friends along the way.” and I won! They sent me a $25 gift card and this is my way of saying Thanks! We picked up some pork...
